World of Hyatt swaps its new-hotel bonus for double points, capped at 25,000 a stay — award nights no longer count

Since 1 October 2026, Hyatt's new-hotel offer pays double base points on one specific rate, up to 25,000 bonus points a stay, instead of 500 points a night. Grand Hyatt The Red Sea and Hyatt Regency London Olympia are on the current list; no UAE hotel is.

World of Hyatt has changed how it rewards stays at its newest hotels. Since 1 October 2026, members earn double base points at participating new hotels, up to 25,000 bonus points per stay, per Milesopedia and Upgraded Points. The offer it replaces paid a flat 500 bonus points a night.

We could not read Hyatt’s own offer page: it returned a bot wall when we tried on 13 October. Every rule below comes from those two reports, which agree on the substance.

The rules that matter

  • Book the right rate. The bonus applies only to the rate called “New Hotel Member Bonus Offer”. There is no registration, but any other rate earns nothing extra.
  • Paid stays only. Award nights earned the old 500-point bonus; they earn nothing under the new one. Group rates are excluded.
  • Base points only. You earn 5 extra points per USD 1 on top of the usual 5. Elite bonus points are not doubled, and Upgraded Points notes that taxes do not count.
  • One cap per stay. Consecutive nights at one hotel on the rate count as a single stay, so 25,000 points is the most one trip can earn. You reach it at USD 5,000 (about AED 18,360) of eligible spend.
  • Take Hyatt points. Choosing airline miles for the stay cancels the bonus, per Milesopedia. Up to three rooms count.
  • Dates are set hotel by hotel. Milesopedia says you must check in within the hotel’s offer period; Upgraded Points says check out. Read the hotel’s own terms before you book.

Points post two to four weeks after checkout.

Better or worse?

It depends on the room rate. On a USD 200 night (about AED 735) the new offer pays 1,000 bonus points, double the old 500. At USD 100 a night the two are level. Below that, and on any award night, the old offer paid more.

For UAE members

No UAE hotel is on the current list as Upgraded Points published it. The nearest is Grand Hyatt The Red Sea on Shura Island in Saudi Arabia (Category 6). Hyatt Regency London Olympia (Category 5) is also on it. The list changes monthly and usually covers the current month and the next three, so check it again before a booking.

If you are paying cash at either hotel anyway, book the bonus rate rather than a member or flexible rate. Do not book a new hotel for the bonus alone. We have not seen whether it stacks with Hyatt’s autumn 3,000-points-per-three-nights promotion, which counts paid and award nights to 15 December.

Hyatt points are also on Qatar Privilege Club’s points-exchange list; see our Qatar Avios transfer-bonus report before moving any. For the hotel programmes we cover in depth, see our hotels section.

Verified on 13 October 2026 against the Milesopedia and Upgraded Points reports. Hyatt’s own offer page was not readable. AED conversions use the 3.6725 peg.
