AlFursan is the loyalty programme of Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national airline and a SkyTeam member. For UAE residents it is a niche currency: no UAE card earns it, and it pays off mainly on Saudia’s own flights to and through the Kingdom. It earns its place for residents who fly to the Kingdom often, for work, family or Umrah, and for families who want one pooled balance.
A sourcing note up front: tiers, the expiry rule, the family program and the redemption tables on this page were read from Saudia’s own membership-tiers page, expiry policy, family-program page and redemption table on 20 October 2026. Saudia’s main AlFursan address blocked our reader, and we did not read its per-flight earn chart, so this page states no earn rate for flights.
Tier structure
AlFursan has three tiers: Green (basic), Silver (“Elite”) and Gold (“Elite Plus”). You qualify in a calendar year on Tier Credits, earned on Saudia and partner-airline flights, or on the number of eligible flights:
| Tier | To attain | To keep | Bonus Reward Miles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver Elite | 25,000 Tier Credits or 20 flights | 20,000 or 15 | 25% |
| Gold Elite Plus | 50,000 Tier Credits or 40 flights | 40,000 or 30 | 50% |
Status runs to the end of December of the following year. Miss the maintenance target and the downgrade takes effect on 1 January.
Per Saudia’s benefits table, both elite tiers get priority boarding, seat selection, an extra piece of baggage and lounge access. On international flights a Silver member can bring up to three family members into the lounge, according to the class of travel, and a Gold member up to three family members and one guest. Gold checks in at the First counter, Silver at Business.
The Reward Ticket table
AlFursan prices Saudia reward flights on a published zone chart. There are two prices per cabin: a Reward seat and, when those are gone, a Rewards+ seat at a higher price. One-way, per Saudia’s table:
| Zone | Economy | Economy+ | Business | Business+ | First |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gulf (GCC), incl. UAE | 5,000 | 10,000 | 24,000 | 48,000 | 35,000 |
| Domestic Saudi | 4,500 | 9,000 | 15,000 | 30,000 | 22,500 |
| Middle East (Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq) | 6,500 | 13,000 | 28,000 | 56,000 | 40,000 |
| Sub-continent (A): Pakistan, North India | 9,000 | 18,000 | 34,000 | 68,000 | 47,500 |
| Sub-continent (B): South India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives | 12,000 | 24,000 | 37,000 | 74,000 | 52,500 |
| Europe (B): Europe except Turkey | 12,000 | 24,000 | 44,000 | 88,000 | 62,500 |
The table covers more zones (Africa, Turkey, the Far East, North America) on Saudia’s page. Taxes, service charges and carrier-imposed charges are paid on top. Reward tickets can be booked for anyone, are valid for one year from issue, can be refunded or rebooked for a fee, and earn no miles or Tier Credits.
Family program
You can nominate up to 8 family members. Each keeps their own membership number and earns Tier Credits towards their own status, while the Reward Miles everyone earns collect in one family pool. Children aged 2 to 12 earn 75% of the miles on their flights; Saudia’s page says all other members “receive the full amount of Miles earned for their flights”. Unlike some family schemes, nothing on that page takes a cut of what goes into the pool.
What a mile is worth
We have no house valuation for AlFursan. It is not on our valuations table, no UAE card earns it, and we have not sampled Saudia’s cash fares against the reward chart, which is how our methodology would set a figure. This page publishes no fils value.
For a single redemption, divide the cash fare you would otherwise pay (in AED, less the taxes you pay either way) by the miles price. That is what the miles are worth to you on that ticket.
Who AlFursan suits
AlFursan suits the UAE resident who flies Saudia to the Kingdom several times a year: the chart makes a Gulf-zone Economy seat cheap in miles, and the flights route counts towards Silver at 20 flights a year, which a regular commuter to Riyadh or Jeddah can reach. The family pool suits households with relatives who fly Saudia too.
It suits you less if most of your flying is on Emirates, Etihad or a oneworld carrier. Saudia is in SkyTeam, which has no UAE member airline, and nothing you spend on a UAE card reaches AlFursan.
How to earn from the UAE
- Flying Saudia. Miles and Tier Credits per flight depend on route and fare; we did not read Saudia’s earn chart, so check the figure on saudia.com before you book. Elite members get the 25% or 50% bonus on Reward Miles.
- SkyTeam partner flights earn Reward Miles and count as qualifying activity, per Saudia’s expiry-policy page.
- UAE credit cards: none. No card in our data earns AlFursan miles or transfers into them.
What to watch
- Two years of silence wipes the balance. Any qualifying activity extends every mile by two years; none in two years and all of them go, with no reinstatement.
- Rewards+ costs double in Economy. On the Gulf zone it is 10,000 against 5,000. Check for a Reward seat on another date first.
- Upgrades are Saudia-only and fare-dependent. Not on codeshares operated by another airline, not on Guest Saver (U class) or special fares.
- Status is calendar-year. Tier Credits reset on 1 January, so a push for Silver has to land inside one year.
