Update, 14 September 2026. Re-read today, the last day of the booking window: Qatar’s page still states “Book by 14 September 2026 and travel by 31 October 2026”. From 15 September this offer is closed; the analysis below stands as filed.
Qatar Airways is running an award-pricing promotion under its Privilege Deals banner, and the booking window is short. Qatar’s own offers page states the terms plainly: book by 14 September 2026 and travel by 31 October 2026.

What we verified
We read the Privilege Club special-offers page on 10 September 2026. The route tile relevant to UAE readers:
- Abu Dhabi — Business — from 21,000 Avios, with a travel window shown on the tile as 9 September to 30 October 2026.
Note the two dates do not quite match: the page’s headline terms say travel by 31 October, while the Abu Dhabi tile shows 30 October. Treat the tile as governing for that route and confirm on the booking screen before you commit Avios.
We are not restating a headline discount percentage. Coverage elsewhere has put a figure on it; that figure was not on the page we read, so we are not publishing it as ours. The Avios price above is what the page shows, and that is the number that decides whether this is worth doing.
Whether 21,000 Avios is a good trade
Doha–Abu Dhabi is a short hop — roughly an hour. Qatar prices it in Business here at 21,000 Avios.
The honest way to judge it is against the cash fare on your dates, not against a feeling about Business Class. Two things to hold in mind:
- Avios has to come from somewhere. For most UAE residents that means transferring in or crediting Qatar flights, not earning on a local co-brand. If you are buying or transferring Avios to reach 21,000, price the acquisition cost in AED first and compare it with the cash fare. A short sector is exactly where a points redemption most often loses to cash.
- Surcharges and taxes are separate. The Avios figure is the mileage component. What lands on the card at checkout is the number that matters, and Qatar does not show it on the offers page.

The practical read
If you already hold Avios and were going to fly Doha–Abu Dhabi in Business before the end of October, this is a straightforward reason to price the award. If you would have to acquire Avios to do it, run the AED comparison before 14 September rather than after — a deadline is not, by itself, an argument.
