Al Hilal deactivated its Etihad Guest cards on 30 November 2025 — the Infinite page still offers 60,000 Miles to apply

Al Hilal Bank's own migration notice says every Etihad Guest Visa credit card was deactivated on 30 November 2025 and earns TouchPoints from 1 December. Ten months later the Etihad Guest Infinite product page is still live, still advertises a 60,000-Mile welcome bonus and Gold tier, and still tells you to SMS to apply.

Al Hilal Bank no longer issues an Etihad Guest credit card. Its own migration notice, filed under “Legacy Cards”, is unambiguous:

Your Al Hilal Bank Etihad Guest Visa Credit Card will be deactivated on 30 November 2025.

and, in the FAQ beneath it:

Will I continue to earn Etihad Guest Miles after 30th of November 2025? No. Starting from 1st of December 2025, you will earn TouchPoints on your credit card purchases.

Existing cardholders were moved to a new World Mastercard. Etihad Guest tier status is not renewed once it lapses, and the quarterly and anniversary Mile bonuses “will be discontinued”.

The page that did not get the memo

Read on 14 September 2026, the Etihad Guest Infinite product page is still live and still sells the card as if nothing happened:

  • 60,000 welcome bonus Etihad Guest Miles “upon payment of 1st year annual fees”.
  • 10,000 quarterly bonus Miles on AED 37,000 of spend.
  • 40,000 anniversary bonus Miles each subsequent year.
  • Complimentary Etihad Guest Gold Tier for six months.
  • Earn rates of 8.25 Miles per AED 10 abroad and 5.75 per AED 10 at home.
  • An “Other ways to apply” panel: “SMS ‘ETIHAD’ to 2494 from your registered mobile number.”

The page’s own search snippet reads “Get a welcome bonus of 60,000 Etihad Airways miles, & 40,000 bonus miles per year!”. It is not linked from the bank’s credit-card catalogue, which today lists two products — a Cashback card and the World Mastercard — but it ranks, and a reader arriving from search has no way to tell it is describing a card the bank switched off ten months ago.

This is the second Al Hilal page in this category. The bank’s AED 15,000 salary campaign closed on 4 August and likewise stayed up reading as live.

What you get instead

The replacement, per the same migration page:

  • AED 500 in TouchPoints as a joining bonus on AED 10,000 of spend within 60 days.
  • AED 200 in TouchPoints per calendar quarter on AED 15,000 of spend, for spends from 1 February 2026.
  • 2.9 TouchPoints per AED 1 internationally or on airline tickets; up to 2.1 per AED 1 locally; 0.40 in bank-defined categories.
  • No annual fee in year one, then AED 787.50, waived at AED 60,000 of retail spend in the prior 12 months.

TouchPoints redeem against bill payments and lifestyle items in the bank’s app. They are not Etihad Guest Miles and Al Hilal does not publish a conversion into them. Whatever the 60,000-Mile page promises, a new applicant is being approved for the World Mastercard.

The practical read

If you hold Etihad Guest Miles earned on the old card, the notice says they “will remain unaffected” in your Etihad Guest account — redeem them through Etihad as usual. If you were about to apply for the Infinite because of the welcome bonus, the bonus does not exist. The UAE co-brands that still earn Etihad Guest Miles on spend are covered on our Etihad Guest programme page, including the FAB Etihad Guest Infinite and Emirates NBD’s Etihad Guest Visa Elevate.

Verified against Al Hilal Bank’s legacy-card migration notice, its Etihad Guest Infinite page and its credit-card catalogue, all read on 14 September 2026. We have asked nothing of the bank; if the page comes down or is corrected, this story will be updated.
