The biggest headline number in the UAE salary-transfer market — Al Hilal Bank’s “up to AED 15,000” welcome campaign — ended on 4 August 2026. You would not know it from the campaign page, which we fetched on 22 August: it still states “The campaign will be valid from 4th May 2026 till 04th August 2026” in the terms, carries no expiry banner, and — eighteen days after closing — still ranks #1 in organic search for the salary-transfer query set.
That combination is a trap. The validity dates are there if you read the terms, but the page presents as a live offer, and a reader who transfers a salary today on the strength of it earns AED 0.
What the campaign paid, for the record
Since the page will keep surfacing in search results, here is the structure as published — dated, expired, not enrollable:
- Salary-transfer component: 10% of your monthly salary as a welcome bonus, capped at AED 5,000. A transfer of AED 60,000 or more earned an additional AED 5,000.
- Card-spend tiers: an extra AED 500 / 1,200 / 2,000 / 3,000 at AED 15,000 / 25,000 / 40,000 / 55,000 of card spend respectively.
- Finance kickers: further bonuses attached to taking personal finance and home finance products, stacking toward the AED 15,000 headline.
The full AED 15,000 was never a salary-transfer reward — it was a salary-plus-heavy-card-spend-plus-two-finance-products reward. But even the honest AED 5,000–10,000 middle of it is gone.
Why we are filing this
Reader protection, plainly. An expired campaign page that outranks every live offer is a market-level misdirection, whoever is at fault for it, and “the terms said so if you scrolled” is not much comfort after your employer has processed a salary-transfer letter. Salary transfers are the slowest financial product to unwind — HR paperwork, a payroll cycle, often a new account — so the cost of acting on a dead page is measured in months, not clicks.
Al Hilal (an ADCB Group digital-first Islamic bank) may well launch a successor; banks that advertise this loudly rarely go quiet for good. If it does, we will file. Until then, treat any Al Hilal salary headline you find in search as expired unless the terms show a window that includes today’s date.
What actually pays right now
The live salary-transfer tracker lists every offer we have verified against published terms, with bands, clawback conditions and verification dates. As of 22 August the headline options are RAKBANK’s up-to-AED 4,000 cash reward (closing 31 August), Emirates Islamic’s banded cashback (running to 30 September), and Mashreq’s rebuilt up-to-AED 4,000 offer — all with the fine print spelled out.
Verified against the Al Hilal campaign page on 22 August 2026. We will re-check this story if Al Hilal publishes a successor campaign; the tracker is the canonical list of what is live.
