HSBC — New-to-Bank Cashback Offer, salary-transfer legs (September–December 2026)
Last verified 13 Oct 2026| Salary band | Reward | Type | Pays out |
|---|---|---|---|
| AED 12,500 – AED 39,999 | AED 750 | cash | +5 months |
| AED 40,000 – no limit | AED 4,000 | cash | +5 months |
Requirements
- New-to-bank customers only: anyone with an HSBC UAE relationship, including an inactive one, at the offer start date is ineligible, as are joint holders opening a sole account, and HSBC staff.
- Open a Premier or Advance account during the offer period (1 September – 31 December 2026, both dates inclusive) and download and activate the HSBC UAE mobile app within 30 days of opening.
- Advance tier: transfer at least 2 eligible salaries of AED 12,500 to AED 39,999 within the first 3 months of account opening. Pays AED 750, or AED 1,000 for employees of companies on HSBC's Employee Workplace Solutions (EWS) list.
- Premier tier: transfer at least 2 eligible salaries of AED 40,000 or more (AED 30,000 for Emirati nationals) AND complete at least AED 12,000 of qualifying transactions within the first 3 months: non-AED spend on the Global Money debit card, an FX top-up of the Global Money Account, or an international remittance through it. Pays AED 4,000.
- The salary must come directly from your employer. The terms state that customers transferring salary from other banks to HSBC are not eligible.
- Not in the table above: the Advance salary leg plus an AED 125,000 balance held for 4 consecutive months (with 2 consecutive salaries inside 60 days) pays AED 2,000, or AED 2,250 for EWS employees.

Offer terms (PDF, read in full; effective 1 September 2026) and the
Premier rewards-and-offers page. Both salary tiers above are the terms’
own figures. Source text archived at
.council/research/2026-10/salary-transfer-source-hsbc-2026-10-13.md. - This replaces the January–August terms at the same URL, now in the offer history. Three things changed: the Advance minimum rose from AED 10,000 to AED 12,500; the Premier salary reward doubled from AED 2,000 to AED 4,000; and the Premier reward now also needs AED 12,000 of foreign-currency activity in the first three months.
- The AED 4,000 is a premium-segment reward. It needs a salary of AED 40,000 a month (AED 30,000 for Emirati nationals) plus AED 12,000 of non-AED card spend, FX top-up or international remittance. If you send money home or travel, that is easy; if you do neither, it is an extra hurdle to plan for.
- The same welcome offer pays on money, not salary. AED 8,000 to 12,000 of cashback is available for new-to-bank balances of AED 500,000 to AED 2 million or more. Those legs are outside a salary-transfer tracker; HSBC’s “up to AED 16,000” headline adds the AED 12,000 balance reward to the AED 4,000 salary reward.
- The 180-day rule is the real tenure. Two salaries inside three months qualify you; an interrupted salary or a closed account inside 180 days of the first credit un-earns the reward.
