Update, 14 September 2026. The 15 August booking window has closed. Re-read today, Etihad’s UAE offers page carries a new “4 new destinations, one special fare” tile with a book by 18 September deadline and no Miles price shown, so the 2.94-fils test cannot be re-run on it. The analysis below stands as filed.
Etihad’s UAE offers page opened a “Last chance for summer” sale with a 15 August 2026 booking deadline. Six round-trip Economy routes out of Abu Dhabi, each shown with a cash fare and an Etihad Guest Miles price alongside it.
The interesting part is not the sale. It is what the two prices reveal when you divide one by the other.

And it is the same number as last month
We ran this arithmetic on Etihad’s previous sale, which closed on 31 July with an entirely different route list — Mumbai, Cairo, Rome, Bangkok, New York, London. That sale also returned a flat 2.94 fils per Mile.
Two sales, twelve routes between them, no overlap, one rate. That is enough to stop calling it a coincidence. Etihad is not pricing Miles per promotion; it is applying a standing conversion at roughly 2.94 fils and letting the cash fare drive the Miles number. These are fixed-rate “Miles as currency” prices — the redemption equivalent of paying by card — not award-chart seats.
What it means for your Miles
A standing rate is easier to plan around than a moving one, and the plan is the same both months: do not spend Miles at 2.94 fils.
Our published cost basis for Etihad Guest is 2 fils, so 2.94 looks generous on its face. It is not, because it is the wrong comparison. The number that matters is what else the same Mile could do. Saver Business redemptions on this programme return roughly 15–23 fils per Mile — five to eight times what the fare page is offering. Every Mile spent on a AED 1,840 Krakow seat is a Mile not spent on a business cabin worth several times more.

These are ex-Abu Dhabi departures — Dubai-based readers should price the transfer into any comparison with an equivalent DXB flight.
