Emirates flew to Helsinki for the first time on 2 October 2026. The airline says the daily service is the only year-round direct connection between Finland and the UAE, per its press release of the same day.
The schedule
Per Emirates, with all times local:
- EK167 departs Dubai at 08:15 and arrives in Helsinki at 14:30.
- EK168 departs Helsinki at 16:20 and lands in Dubai at 00:20 the following day.
The route is flown by the Airbus A350, which Emirates configures with 298 seats across Business, Premium Economy and Economy. Business is a 1-2-1 layout with lie-flat seats; there is no First Class on this aircraft. The release says the timings are built for onward connections through Dubai to East and Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, Africa, the GCC and Australasia.
Who should care
- Finnish residents of the UAE and anyone with family in Finland: a non-stop replaces a one-stop via a European hub, and the overnight return lands before the working day.
- Skywards members chasing Premium Economy. The A350 carries Emirates’ newer Premium Economy cabin, so Helsinki joins the list of routes where that seat is available. Award pricing for the route is not given in the release; check the Emirates Skywards hub for how Skywards prices Europe redemptions, and the live award search before planning a transfer.
- Winter travellers. The release points to Lapland and Rovaniemi through Emirates Holidays packages. Finland’s Northern Lights season overlaps the UAE’s National Day and winter-break weeks.
Nothing here changes an existing booking, a fee or an earn rate. It is a new route, not a programme change.
Tickets are on sale on emirates.com, the Emirates app and through travel agents, per the release.
