Wio Credit (Mastercard World) review (August 2026)

Wio Credit is the single credit facility of Wio Bank PJSC — a Mastercard World product from the UAE’s standalone digital bank, and the only card in our tracker whose price tag sits on the plan, not the plastic. There is no annual card fee anywhere in Wio’s Schedule of Fees. There is also no cashback unless you pay — or salary-transfer — your way onto a qualifying plan.

Annual fee
Free
Min salary

Pros

  • 2% flat on all purchases with no category tables — among the cleanest flat earns in the UAE once you're on a qualifying plan
  • AED 0 annual card fee — the Schedule of Fees has no annual-card-fee row at all
  • 0.5% cashback for paying other banks' credit cards through Wio Credit — unique in the UAE market
  • 2% FX fee, below the typical UAE 2.5–3.5% band
  • Salary-plan customers roll over at 2.29%/month (27.48% APR) instead of 3.25%/month (39% APR)

Cons

  • Standard-plan customers earn no cashback — the effective price of the 2% is the plan subscription
  • The AED 2,500/month cashback cap includes "My Money" current-account transactions, not just card spend
  • Government, real-estate and utility payments earn 0.5%, not 2%
  • The other-bank-card mechanic has conditions — AED 5,000 minimum retail spend in the cycle, cap tied to your credit limit
  • No published salary minimum — eligibility is assessed in the app, so you cannot pre-check approval

The plan is the price

“AED 0 annual fee” is true and incomplete. The Key Fact Statement is explicit that cashback is not applicable to Standard Plan customers, so the 2% headline belongs only to Wio’s paid or salary-qualified tiers:

  • Salary plan — free, with a minimum monthly salary transfer of AED 15,000 (reducible for employees of Wio partner companies).
  • Plus plan — AED 49/month, waived when you hold AED 35,000+ in balances.
  • Family plan — AED 49/month, waived at AED 35,000+ in balances or one member’s AED 15,000+ salary.
  • Standard plan — AED 25/month (free at AED 3,000+ in balances), and no cashback at all.

So the effective price of the earning card is either a salary transfer you may have been planning anyway, or AED 588 a year of Plus subscription — comparable to a mid-tier annual fee elsewhere, but buying the whole banking plan, not just the card. Do that arithmetic before comparing this card’s “free” against a genuinely fee-free rival.

Earn rates

2% cashback

The 2% is flat — no category tables, no monthly spend tiers — and capped at AED 2,500 of cashback per calendar month, a ceiling that includes “My Money” current-account transactions, not just card spend. Cashback lands on the 1st of the following month.

Paying other banks’ cards

The mechanic nobody else offers: settle another UAE bank’s credit card through Wio Credit and earn 0.5% cashback on the payment. For a household carrying a high-fee card elsewhere, that is cashback on a bill you were paying anyway. The conditions, straight from the KFS: the 0.5% is bounded by 0.5% of your Wio Credit limit, and the clause carries a minimum spend of AED 5,000 of retail transactions in the same cycle — so the mechanic rewards people already using Wio Credit as a primary card, not a parking spot for other banks’ bills.

Fee summary

Free
Annual fee
FX +2.00%

No annual card fee — the plan subscription is the price (see above). The 2% FX margin is below the typical UAE 2.5–3.5% band. Interest is where the plan matters a second time: roll-over on Standard, Plus and Family is 3.25%/month (39% APR), cut to 2.29%/month (27.48% APR) on the Salary plan — the cheapest roll-over rate in our tracker, for what that is worth on a balance you shouldn’t carry. Interest-free period runs up to 60 days, minimum payment is 5% or AED 100, late payment is AED 199, card replacement AED 26.25.

Easy Cash, honestly priced

Easy Cash lets you borrow up to 50% of your credit limit at AED 1 per day per AED 1,000 borrowed, for up to 90 days. The framing is friendly; the arithmetic is not small: Wio’s own Schedule of Fees states the equivalent rate as 36.5% APR. That is cheaper than many UAE cash-advance routes and the flat-dirham wording makes the cost easy to track — but it is a 36.5% APR product per the bank’s own figure, not a cheap loan. Easy Installments (3–48 months) are the planned-purchase alternative: AED 52.50 processing on the 3-month tenure, longer tenures free, at rates from 0% up to your roll-over rate.

Key conditions to know

Plan gate
Cashback requires the Salary, Plus or Family plan. Standard-plan customers earn nothing. The plan subscription — or the AED 15,000 salary transfer — is the card’s effective price.
One cap, broadly drawn
AED 2,500/month maximum cashback, counted across Wio Credit purchases and “My Money” current-account transactions.
Rate demotions
Government, real-estate and utility payments (including Easy Cash) earn 0.5%. Cash advances, quasi-cash and crypto are excluded from cashback.
Other-bank-card payments
0.5% cashback, up to 0.5% of your Wio Credit limit, conditioned on AED 5,000+ of retail transactions in the same cycle.
Salary-plan interest discount
Roll-over at 2.29%/month (27.48% APR) on the Salary plan versus 3.25%/month (39% APR) on every other plan. First month’s roll-over is waived; your applied rate is set out in your Offer.
Eligibility
Wio publishes no salary minimum for credit itself in the current KFS v5 — a superseded deposit-account KFS cited ages 21–64 and AED 5,000+, but the current credit document states none. Approval is assessed in the Wio app, which is why our spec table shows the salary bar as “Pending” rather than a number we cannot source. UAE residency required.

Watch out for

  • The Standard-plan trap. Hold the card on the Standard plan and you have a 0% cashback card with a monthly subscription. Confirm your plan before counting any earnings.
  • The cap’s reach. AED 2,500/month sounds generous, but it pools card spend with current-account transactions — heavy My Money users will hit it sooner than the card spend alone suggests.
  • The 0.5% categories. Utilities, government and real-estate payments are exactly the big recurring lines many readers put on a cashback card. Here they earn a quarter of the headline.
  • Easy Cash’s true cost. AED 1/day per AED 1,000 is 36.5% APR by the fee schedule’s own statement. Use it as a bridge, not a loan.

Bottom line

For the AED 15,000+ earner willing to move their salary, Wio Credit is close to a free 2%-on-everything card with the market’s lowest roll-over rate and a genuinely unique other-bank-card mechanic. Apply if you qualify for the Salary plan — or if AED 49/month of Plus is already worth it to you for the banking. Skip if you would sit on the Standard plan, if your spend is dominated by the 0.5% categories, or if you want a published salary bar and a pre-checkable approval rather than an app-assessed decision.
